Administration

I graduated from Texas A & M- Corpus Christi in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Skills. Since then, I've continued my education to acquire two more degrees from University of Houston- Victoria: a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction (2008) and a Master of Education in Administration and Supervision (2011). Over the past sixteen years I have been in education, I have taught second and fourth grade, as well as middle school math. When Torres Elementary opened in 2009, I joined the team as the Math and Science learning facilitator and, two years later, became the Assistant Principal. In 2017 I was chosen as Torres' new Building Principal.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, my children, and three dogs. My favorite hobbies are hunting and fishing.

I am excited to start my 22nd year with VISD as the Assistant Principal of Torres Elementary.  I taught at O’Connor Elementary for 11 years in third grade and then moved to Torres Elementary to teach third grade for 3 years. For the past 6 years I have worked as the Torres Instructional Coach where I have been providing coaching, modeling, and mentoring at the campus level to ensure a high-quality education that enabled all our students to meet their academic needs. As we approach the upcoming school year, I am honored to have the opportunity to continue reaching, teaching, and inspiring all students at Torres Elementary.  My passion for education involves providing exciting, rigorous, safe learning environments for all our students.  My commitment to building positive relationships and leading by example will go hand in hand while exhibiting Tiger Pride!  #torresstrong
