This is my second year to work as a Speech Assistant for VISD. I graduated from Texas A. & M. University in Kingsville. I really love my job and look forward to working with your students.

My name is Lettie Garcia. I have been with VISD for 21 years. I have been at Torres since the doors opened. I have lived in Victoria all of my life. I love to read and spend time with my nephews. I enjoy my job and working with the students. I'm looking forward to a wonderful year!

Kristi Malta, Assistant

My name is Kristi Malta and this will be my 1st year at Torres Elementary as a Special Education Assistant. I've had the pleasure of working with VISD last year as a substitute teacher. Just this year I became a Paraprofessional, as I love working with children of all ages. In my spare time I spend time with my Wonderful husband, dog and church family. Looking forward to another AWESOME year.

Courtney deLuna Shoup, Special Education Assistant


Hi Torres Tigers! My name is Mrs. Shoup and this is my fourth year as a Special Education Assistant and I LOVE my job!!! I enjoy working with all of our students and getting to know them. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and working out. I'm looking forward to a wonderful year of watching our kiddos blossom.  

Brandy Garcia, ESL


My name is Brandy Garcia and I am the ELL (English Language Learner) Itinerant Teacher.  I graduated from the University of Houston-Victoria and I have certifications in ESL, Early Childhood, and Elementary Education.  I have enjoyed working at Torres Elementary for 1 full year, but have taught for a total of 9 years (Kindergarten and 3rd grade).  I love working at Torres and with your kids!  My husband and I have a three-year-old son and two cats.  We enjoy spending time outside, attending and volunteering at church, reading, and going on adventures!

Exciting life!  I grew up all over the world because my dad was in the military.  I finally settled in Victoria.  I attended the University of Houston in Victoria.  The one thing I love the most is animals.  If I lived out in the country, I would have a lot of pets.

Welcome Torres Tigers! My name is Ellen Hahn.  It is my pleasure to work with students as their Special Education teacher.  After graduating from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor's degree, I then received my alternative teaching certification through Region III.  This is my eleventh year at Torres and my fifteenth year in education with Victoria ISD.  When I am not at work, I enjoy life with my son (Go Titan band!) and our pets.  My other hobbies include gardening, arts & crafts and beading.  I look forward to watching our students grow this year!

Alma Pena, Special Education Assistant


Hola, my name is Alma Pena.  I am a Special Education assistant who is bilingual and specializes in counseling.  When I am not at school, I love taking care of my family and my dog.  My favorite super hero is the Incredible Hulk because he is strong, but gentle.  I collect anything and everything Incredible Hulk!

My name is Betina Maldonado Ramos and I am the Speech Pathologist for Torres Elementary and O’Connor Elementary. I earned my graduate degree through Texas A&M University- Kingsville in 2018. This is my second year with VISD and a Torres Tiger. Each day I look forward to guiding my students to reach their goals! Slow and steady wins the race! Go Tigers Go! 

Betty Rocha, Assistant


My name is Betty Rocha. I have been with VISD for 19 1/2 Years. I have started my 11th  year here at Torres. I  am married and have 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren who I love spending time with. I love to work side by side with Torres teachers.
